06-07-1994 01~03PM F~ J. E. STOUER 8 RSSOCIATES T~ 17008328106 P.02
2.05.6(3)(b)(iv)
To the extent feasible, the hydrologic monitoring plan presented on
the preceding pages will implemented. There are some instances
when the scheduled monitoring may be delayed, altered or not be
performed as follows:
sorinas 1 - 6
The monitoring schedule requires that springs 1 - 6 be monitored
April through October. It is possible that late spring rain or
gnaw showers could render the springs inaccessible because of muddy
conditions. it is also possible that mud slides could make the
access road to the springs impassible during April. However, the
road would probably dry sufficiently so it could be opened for the
May monitoring event. it is also possible that early snow storms
could prevent access to the springs for the required October
monitoring. October monitoring will be scheduled at the beginning
to the middle of the month to reduce the likelihood of problems
with early snow storms.
The Division will be given written notification if either April or
October monitoring is missed. The notification will explain the
conditions which caused the lack of monitoring.
North Fork of the Gunnison River NF-1 6 NF-2
The monitoring schedule requires that the North Fork of the
Gunnison River be monitored upstream and downstream quarterly.
Snow and ice on the river banks makes the collection of samples
difficult if not dangerous. The first quarter monitoring will be
performed in late March when, in most cases, the ice will be gone
from the river banks. It is possible this monitoring will be
delayed until the first week of April if the spring thaw is later
than normal. The fourth quarter monitoring will be performed by
mid to late November to assure a sample can be obtained safely.
Springs 7 - 11
The monitoring schedule requires that springs 7 - 11 be monitored
monthly. During the winter months it is probable that the springs
will be either covered with snow, frozen or both. Therefore, if
the springs are covered with snow or frozen, it will be so noted in
the monitoring record to justify any lack of monitoring data.
2.05 - 47ii
New 06-07-94
