1 formal public hearing on the permit attempt, but not on
2 the violation.
3 MR. JOHNSON: That's right. That's
25
4 right. And as I understand it, Fred's proposal is to
5 continue the hearing on the permit amendment until next
6 month and also have a hearing on the order and do that
7 entire thing next month. And Jim is concerned that what
8 if this doesn't all work out? I mean, we will bey back
9 here doing the same thing again next month. And what I'm
10 suggesting is we have a prehearing conference of some
11 sort so we will know in advance if it's going to be
12 impossible; then we can set some mechanism up to get an
13 order at that time.
14 CHAIRMAN O'CONNOR: Let me just a<_~k this
15 of the objectors individually or collectively: Uo any of
16 you have any objection marching down the road to where we
17 may notify you as short as five days prior to they hearing
18 next month that we are not going to have a hearing next
19 month? In other words, do any of you want to in:;ist that
20 there be some like--is it a 30-day notice?
21 MR. BANTA: 20-day.
22 CHAIRMAN O'CONNOR: --20-day notice period
23 you have to be given? Because if you want to in~;ist on
24 that, we'll do it because what it will mean is we'll have
25 to bring all of you up here next week or next month.
