HALL IRWIN COMPANIEBIO 0 PAGE 4
BAILEY PIT -TECHNICAL REVISION
SEPTEMBER 23, 199B
pound per sq-ft that is greater than normal NRCS recommenda-
tions.
Species LB-PLS
Western Wheatgrass 1.50
Garrison Foxtail 1.25
Tall Fescue 2.25
Reed Canary Grass 1.25
Alkali Sacaton 0.15
Switchgrass 0.75
Total 7.15
CONCLUSION
This Technical Revision cleans up some minor problems that
have occurred over the life of the mine. It also increases the
chances of us completing reclamation successfully. The 404
Permit work will hopefully help stabilize the river banks during
normal spring flow rates but is not intended to redesign the
channel for 100 year events. It will be important to have the
Division and ACOE review the site before next spring to release
the bank work incase there is another catastrophic high water
event. The change in woody species removes the Russian Olive
trees to avoid conflict with DOW and NRCS when bond release
occurs and the grass seed changes improve the diversity of
grasses used for reclamation.
Tectonic has said they need to begin the sloping work by the
end of September to stay within a time frame set during meeting
with the Corps of Engineers. we would appreciate quick approval
of the T.R. so the work can begin ASAP. If you have any ques-
tions please call me at 303-654-1604 .
ncerel
IJ f Gregg
cc Environment, Inc.
Tectonic Constructions CO.
File
enclosures
