If mining begins <br />on the unlined lakes near her property the approved plan calls for <br />installation .of a recharge structure and monitoring wells between <br />the structure and her wells prior to dewatering a very small area <br />for placing a dredge. This plan was approved by the Division in <br />the fall of 2001 during the last round of permitting. A flood <br />protection plan is addressed in the response to item 9 above. A <br />noted in the response to Mr. Rippe, gravel mines do not generate <br />"toxic By-products". Nor will "wastewater" be discharged from the <br />mine without first being treated until it reaches the Colorado <br />Department of Health and Environment's approved standards. <br />Duke Energy <br />This appears to be an advisory letter. I have reviewed their <br />map and there are no gaslines with 200 feet of the reservoir areas. <br />There is one line on the very south end of the permit area and this <br />was addressed in the 2001. <br />Town of Milliken <br />Mr. Tim Pike met with IKS. Ortiz and Milliken's City Manager on July <br />30th to discuss their concerns. I have addressed the points in the <br />Milliken letter in a response to Ms. Ortiz and have attached a copy <br />for your review. <br />I•hope these responses have addressed the adequacy questions <br />you had.
