The technical specificarions will incorporate recommendations provided in the
"Guide to Specification Preparation for Slurry Walls and Clay Liners as a Component of
a Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Permit," prepared by the Division of Minerals and
Geology (DMG) of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources.
• Prepare a final design report, a design plan set, and technical specifications. Three copies
of the final design report and technical specification set will be submitted to Envirocon.
• Submit the report to the State Engineer and respond to questions and comments
ultimately resulting in design approval letter from the State.
Lyman Herat has made the following assumptions:
• Design of a toe drain or elaborate slope reinforcement will aot be required.
• Permanent reservoir slopes wiU be designed by others.
• It is the owners responsibility to obtain all permits
SLURRY WALL CON5TRUCTION
Upon receiving all approvals necessary to begin construction of the Longhorn Lake Slurry
Wall, Envirocon will mobilize to the project site. The equipment spread scheduled for the
Longhorn Lake Slurry Wall project is as follows:
• Komatsu PC 750 with a depth capability of 35 feet to excavate the slurry wall trench
• Komatsu PC 300 to mix the dry slurry and backfill the trench
• D-6 LGP Dozer to mix dry slurry and backfill the trench
• JetShear Slurry Mixing Unit and six inch pumps
• Four inch HDPE slurry distribution pipe
• Frac Tank as needed
• Telescopic fork lib
'fhe fast tasks toward slurry wall construction will include excavating the slurry holding
pond, fuse weld the four inch HDPE slurry distribution pipe, set up the office trailer and
utilities, trm water line from ittigation wells to the JetShear slurry mixing unit, take delivery
of bentonite, survey the slurry wall center line and wnstruct the working platform where
needed.
Onee the project is set up, bentonite slurry mixing in the holding pond will begin and
excavation of Ure slurry wall can commence. Envirocon is currently estimating that the
average depth of the gravels in the Longhorn Lake area is 25 feet and a key into bedrock of 3
feet will he adequate. However, the Field investigation portion of this project may alter these
assumptions.
