07/26/2004 15:04 7208891383 PAGE 02
• Present test boring data Information obtained from the test borings will be incorporated
into detailed typed boring logs. Detailed, written descriptions of every stratum
encountered will be presented. Additional summaries will be prepazed For stuwey data,
field observations, laboratory test results, and packer test results.
• Prepare a report summarizing the field investigation. Lyman Henn has made the
following assumptions for test borings based on previous subsurface explorations by CTL
Thompson.
• The average thickness of alluvial material overlying the bedrock is 25 feet.
• Coarse alluvial material consists of sand and gravel and will become cobbly with. depth
and is medium dense to dense. This material will be the primary material encountered
from the ground surface to bedrock during drilling.
• Groundwater will exist approximately 10 feet below the ground surface.
• All boring locations will be acceptable to attack-mounted drilling rig.
TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY
A topographic survey will be performed fora 200 feet wide corridor along the proposed
slurry wall alignment. The approximate length of the sltury wall alignment is 11,100 feet.
Orient and assist surveyor during surveying. A L ymatt Henn representative will be on site
prior to the start of the topographic surveying to insure the surveyor understands the extent of
the sttrvey area, The surveyor will provide a heed copy topographic map and an electronic
copy topographic map that is AutoCAD compatible. The topographic map will use 1.0 feet
contour intervals. Lyman Henn will contract King Surveyors, inc. to perform the topographic
survey.
Lyman Henn has assttmed a 200-foot wide survey corridor will provide sufficient
topographic information for the project. Lyman Henn has assumed that appropriate contort
points are in place.
MIX DESIGN
Lyman Henn will use materials obtained in the borings and a bontonite source speciSed by
Envirocon to perform a laboratory mix design. The mix design will include classification
testing and up to two permeability tests.
FINAL DESIGN REPORT, CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS AND TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS
Lyman Henn will perform final design and specifications for asoil-bentonite backfilled
slurry wall. Lyman Hetm will perform the following tasks.
