Figure C-3. The skid-mounted reclaim pumps will be constructed
• at elevations of 8500 ft and 8540 ft in the lower and upper
disposal areas, respectively. Initial tailings deposition will
be controlled to maintain the free water pool at the upper and
lower areas.
During Phase II operations, water will be reclaimed to
the mill through a single intake operated from a~n access ramp
which connects the tailings surface to the 8620 bench as shown
on Figure C-4. Tailings deposition will be controlled to
maintain the free water pool at the base of the access ramp
and as far away from the main embankment as possible.
D.6.7.4 Phase I Operations
The initial tailings discharge during Phase 1 operations
will occur from a single spigotting point located in the
northwest corner of the lower disposal area and the northeast
corner of the upper disposal area. Following development of
• a layer of tailings covering the liner and drainage system,
deposition of tailings will continue from the 8,590 bench at
the east end of the upper disposal area and from the 8,550
bench on the main embankment. Tailings will be deposited in
a manner to maintain the free water pool adjacent to the access
ramps in each disposal area.
Tailings will be transported from the process area at
a rate of 4,680 TPD via an eight-inch diameter HDPE pipeline
to the perimeter of the disposal area at an approximate
elevation of 8,590. The distribution system will extend around
the entire perimeter of the disposal area with individual
spigot locations every 100 ft. The distribution system will
be constructed using Driscopipe 8600 or equivalent. The
pipeline from the milling facilities to the disposal area will
be placed in a 10-ft wide trench double lined with a 80-mil
HDPE synthetic membrane.
•
D-56
