be reclaimed as previously approved. The only change will be that the
• material at both sites and any standing water present at the test heap will
be taken to the mill for reprocessing rather than the heap leach as
previously approved. As discussed in Exhibit E water in the test heap ponds
is currently being evaporated by spraying on the existing heap.
Surface water monitoring will remain as outlined in the original
permit. Groundwater monitoring will be revised for the area of tailings
diposal as discussed in Exhibit G. In addition, project water requirements
are somewhat different and are discussed in Exhibit G. Water rights for
the project have been obtained and are described in Exhibit G of this
amendment.
Soils, vegetation and wildlife inventories were completed for the
entire permit area in the original application. Since the permit area has
remained unchanged, soils, vegetation and wildlife inventories completed
and approved for the entire permit area do not require revision and are
not addressed as part of this amendment. The soils report for the permit
• area is found in Exhibit I of the approved permit. The vegetation report
is found in Exhibit J of the approved permit. The wildlife report is found
in Exhibit H of the approved permit.
For ease of review those sections of the approved peninit which are
proposed to remain unchanged are referenced but not included. Only those
sections which are proposed to change are included in detail. Upon approval
of this amendment, the original permit will be revised to eliminate all
references to heap leaching and incorporate the following sections.

3
