B&B Excavation ("B&B")filed an amendment
~~. ... .
applicatioh to the Montgomery Pit, Permit No. M-1986-104, AIvI-1. The amendment proposes
the following; (1) reduce the permitted acreage for mining; and (2) change the post mining land-
use from rangeland to industrial/commercial.
We have the reviewed the full application submitted by B&B and have comments and issues
concerning AM-1 under the title headings, as follows:
-IFeduction of Permitted Acreage for ivlining
The permitted acreage for mining at the Montgomery Permit is 46.08 acres. This amendment
would reduce said acreage to 36.57 acres. The majority of the removal acreage is within the
mining area of the original permit along the sites northern boundary and Eagle River. The
reduction acreages have not been mined over the years due to its proximity to the channel of the
Eagle River and it is location in the 100- year flood plain, and remains relatively undisturbed. To
some extent the removal acreages have also not been mined due to power and transmission line
light=of-ways that run through•ttie property. The Town believes this to be an appropriate
amendment arid has nd issues or-comments relating to this change.' ~ •• -
~,
