The primary purpose for this
Technical Revision is to make minor modifications to the Permit boundary to fully encompass
disturbances resulting from past Permit activities. The proposed total acreage to be included
under the Permit will not be increased and will be maintained at less than 10 acres, as
stipulated for 110 (2) permits.
In conjunction with this Technical Revision request, the Operator is also proposing minor
clarifications in the reclamation plan for the Permit.
Backeround
The Operator received the Permit under a Succession of Operator in 1997. The Operator
conducted site activities at the Topaz Mine during the period of June 1997 to October 1998.
All work at this site by the Operator, as well as by past operators, has been developmental in
nature. No ore has ever been produced at the Topaz Mine as the target ore body has not been
fully accessed and developed, The Topaz Mine has been on suspended operation status since
October 1998.
The site maps received by the Operator under the Succession of Operator do not completely
and fully reflect existing site conditions. Therefore, the proposed Technical Revision is
intended to make minor changes in the Permit boundary to accurately depict site conditions.
Boundary Change
The Operator proposes to adjust the boundary of the Permit area; in reviewing the existing
Permit boundary, it was determined by the Operator that the area encompassed by the Permit
boundary somewhat exceeded 10 acres. The current proposal hereunder is to draw in the
northeast and northwest corners of the Permit boundary, as these areas are undisturbed. By
