ao
its fi> Nicolas P*
eceived
EXHIBIT C JAN 2 4 2gol
Mining Plan
,on OfUo lel
The pit operation will be an open pit mine for the extraction, crushing 072"re/sa G'ce
storage of various sizes of aggregate which will be used on Gunnison County roads
in the vicinity. Gunnison County equipment which may be used during operations
include a dozer, loader, tandem trucks, and tractor trailer combination units.
Item a - The mining in this pit will change in procedure after the Amendment
applied for is approved. Gunnison County is projecting this proposed
Amendment will add at least ten (10) years to the life of the pit.
Item b - Test excavations in the proposed pit area indicated very little good topsoil
or overburden. The top one to two feet is very contaminated with sawmill
debris and natural rock. However, it may vary some on the entire site.
Approximately one-foot average depth will be salvaged and stockpiled to
be used for reclamation purposes. If areas of greater depth of suitable
soils are encountered they will be saved.
Item c - More oversized rock than anticipated has been encountered. We wil'.
either use this rock on road projects or bury the rock before closure an`
reclamation.
Item d - The south end of the pit will be excavated 15-20 feet deep and the north
end 20-30 feet deep.
Item e - The primary access to the pit area will be via Gunnison County Roac:
#864. A twelve (12) foot access road will be developed into the pit site.
Native materials will be used for construction, and it will be graveled with
3/4" Class 6.
No building will be constructed for this operation. Gunnison County has
a crusher operation under contract and they will move onto the site every
year or every other year as needed to crush the material. It is estimated
that they will be on site no more than one month per year.
Item f - The area amended in 1996 will not be disturbed. The areas that will
change with this amendment will be disturbed and mined. The total
approximate are to be disturbed is 7.07 acres.
