Method of seedmg <br />Seed will be drilled in all areas unless the slopes are too steep <br />to traverse with seeding equipment. The drill must have the <br />capability of handling the kind and rate of seed being planted. <br />2. Seed maybe broadcast by hand, by mechanical spreader, or by <br />Hydraulic equipment on areas that are small, too steep, or not <br />accessible for seed-drilLoperations. This specification does not <br />provide for hydraulic application of seed and mulch in single <br />operations. Should doubled if broadcast? <br />3. Depth of Seeding: Seed planted with a drill shall be covered <br />with soil to a depth of/4 to'/4 inch. <br />4. Seed planted by the broadcast method shall be incorporated <br />into the surface soil, not to exceed a depth of/4 inch, by raking, <br />harrowing or other proven method. <br />5. Time of Seeding: Planting dates for Dormant-Spring for a <br />higher chance of success is Oct. 15 through Apr. 15. For <br />Summer planting date range is from June 15 through July I5. <br />V. No mulch is anticipated being, however, planted sites shall be <br />protected from trampling and grazing until plants are well <br />established. In heavy-use areas, fencing or bamers should protect <br />critical area plantings. <br />
