Scale Slte as part of the CAP to assure water quality. Preliminary hydrology
for the silt retention facility is also included in the summary. A detailed
discussion of all recommended stormwater facilities is contained in the
' "Corrective Actions" Section.
SURFACE DISTURBANCES
' The quarry access road has had several surface disturbances associ:~ted
with its construction, operation, and maintenance since its upgrade by the
' current Operator in the early 1970's. One of these disturbances was the
subJect of a Slope Stability Report, Obering, Wurth & Associates, July, ] 988
and subsequent geotechnical analysis by CTL-Thompson, September, 1989. The
' former Obering, wurtl~ & Associates report is Included in the CAP by
reference, the latter is contained in its entirety under the "Geotechnical
Report" heading following the Appendix in this CAP.
' The surface disturbances have been designated as Areas 1-7 Por purposes
of this CAP. The areas are numbered from top to bottom of the access road
starting near the quarry operation. Each disturbance has been field identified
' by the Operator, MLRD staff, reclamation consultant, and the geotechnical
consultant. Disturbance limits have been marked and the limits surveyedl by
' field survey crews from Obering, Wurth & Associates. In addition to the seven
disturbances, two additional areas have been identified and surveyed. These
' are the Old Scale Slte at the bottom of the Visual Berm and the area that was
subJect to Inundation immediately above Area 1. All surface disturbances are
' shown on the CAP (2 sheets in the Exhibit section) while Area 1 and the
inundation are also shown at 1"=50' detail in the Exhibits.
A tabulation of the surface disturbances is included to summarise all areas
and a brief description of each area follows.
1

s
1
