1

^ OLD SCALE SITE
' Thls is a small area of disturbance located just below the Visual E~erm
on the South side of the access road. The area was used for the weight
scale during the initial operation of the quarry by the present Operator.
' The access road will be shifted approximately 30' to 40' North in this area
to create a better alignment of the road. A culvert will also be Installed
' to divert Plows Prom the South side of the road into the proposed silt
retention facility. This is a comparatively small area that will be added as
~ part of the overall CAP activities.
CORRECTIVE ACTIONS
' The plans for corrective action for the hydrologic balance, surface
disturbances, water quality, revegetation, and boundary modifications have been
developed as a result of considerable consultation among the authors of .his
CAP, with guidance from legal counsel, and input Prom the MLRD staff. IC is
' the Intent of the Operator to proceed with the plans as approvals are
received and/or final engineering plans are developed where appropriate. 'The
corrective actions will be accomplished under the observation and guidance of
the Consultants and MLRD staff. Each of the items proposed for corrective
actions is discussed in detail in this section. Reference is made to the
'' appropriate Exhibits that follow.
' , HYDROLOGIC BALANCE
~ This item has been divided Into two categories, one of surface stormwater
' runoff and one of water quality. The first is discussed in this subsection, the
second in the "Water Quality" subsection that Follows. A detailed stormwater
1 runoff analysis has been completed as part of this CAP and is contained in the
Hydrology Section and Appendix. The results were used in the developmen~: of
a stormwater management plan for the access road. This plan consists
t generally of installation oP a series oP culvert crossings at locations along the
road that have excessive road ditch flows or significant offsite flows from the
South or a combination of both. Roadway ditches will also be eliminated in

8
