EXHIBIT L RECLAMATION COSTS
This reclamation cost estimate in based on the assumption
that there will be no more than 30.00 acres ± needing resoiling
and revegetation at any one time and there is approximately 60
acres of lake needing pumping. This is when mining on Stage 2
Part A is just ending and a time when the most lake area would
have to be pumped if mining stopped prematurely and left some
slope grading to be completed. This is a multi discipline mining
operation where there is alluvial gravel and terrace gravel being
mined. For this reason there are two types of sloping that would
have to be done, the methods used to create both slopes and the
depth of the resoiling is the same. The method used to
revegetate the lake perimeter and terrace areas will remain as
currently permitted. The following information depicts a worse
case scenario when it would be most expensive to reclaim. This
is an attempt to set the bond so there is flexibility to operate
without reevaluating the bond yearly.
According to our scenario, we will have to respread 19, 179
cubic yards of soil; do 12,427 cubic yards of cut/fill work on
lake slopes, 3, 645 cubic yards of cut/fill work terrace slopes;
and revegetate 30.00 ac. ±. The table below outlines the various
areas of disturbance at that time. The amount of soil that will
be re-spread is based on an average of 9 inches. Our cost
estimate to do all of the shaping and soiling in this cost
estimate is based on using a D-9 dozer, but the actual equipment
used by the permittee may differ. We have used the Divisions
pumping cost numbers for a non-maned pump. We also rounded the
pumping time to the next day and used 117,000 gal/day as a
transmissivity number to figure inflow from the aquifer. These
figures are then used in the calculations for the bond amount.
The revegetation cost figure includes grass seed, mulch, chemical
fertilizer (ammonium nitrate & superphosphate) and drilling
costs.
STAGE (UNITS AC.,LFT OR PIECES)
RECLAMATION ACTIVITY 2 C D W TOTALS
RESOIL 10.10 5.75 15.85
REVEGETATE 15.31 8.94 5.75 30.00
DEWATER 51.67 51.67
LAKE SLOPING 4,730 4,730
TERRACE SLOPING 890 1,135 2,025
LAKE AREA 59.96 11.85 71.81
ROADS 3.17 0.55 0.03 0.52 4.27
WORKIFEED AREAS 25.34 1.23 6.66 33.23
TREES 1 357 1 1 357
16
