Exhibit E RECLAMATION PLAN
There are no plans at this time to change the future use for
the mined areas. The following amendments to the reclamation
plan are numbered sequentially to follow those submitted in 1981 .
Currently the post mining land use is recreational and the new
areas will have the same designation. The approved reclamation
plans, including resoiling, revegetation methods and species, and
tree planting will remain unchanged on the existing permit areas.
We will use the revegetation methods, and resoiling methods
approved for similar areas described in the original application
and the 1981 revision on the new areas. Review of the 1981 maps
will show how the existing permit area will be reclaimed. We
have only included these areas to the new maps to provide conti-
nuity between the various changes and reflect the Phase renumber-
ing. Note that only the newly added areas are colored to avoid
confusion in the future. The text below describes how the new
area will differ from the existing areas and the maps show the
areas to be reclaimed.
AMENDMENT S - Phase numbering and seouence
The changes in the mining Stages necessitated changes in the
Reclamation Phasing. Please refer to the Reclamation Timetable
later in this exhibit and Map Exhibits C-ln and C-ls.
AMENDMENT 6 - Topsoil and revegetation for added areas.
The soils and vegetation on the new areas north of Coffman
road are the same as those described in Exhibit J(rooiead 19ei), of
the last amendment. As described in that report we will salvage
the upper 12 inches of soil for revegetation. We will salvage
and store sufficient quantities to resoil the slopes and level
area around the lake as mining begins in a Stage. In particular,
the explanation in Amendment 3 described how the area north of
Coffman Road will be reclaimed. This can be applied to Stage 5
and the north shore of Stage 6 since both areas are extensions of
the areas already in the permit. Review of the 1977 text ex-
plains the methods that will be used to reclaim Stage 2 - Part B.
This area is very similar to Stage 2 - Part A, only closer to the
river.
Stage 3 - Part A will be partially silted in because that is
where our wash water will be sent when mining moves into the
northern stages. In this stage, we will not know the exact ratio
of dryland and water areas until mining ends. It is possible
that a portion of the area will be lake, a portion will be
shallow swamp and part will be dry land. On the land areas
around the lakes we will seed using the approved methods and
species for use on lake areas. On the swamp areas we will allow
natural invasion of wetland plants to take place. The Timetable
phase numbering reflects the way the area is shown on the new
maps in this amendment.
9
