I
• •
Exhibit D MINING PLAN (cont)
Mining will then move south of Coffman Road to mine the west part
of the lake being created south of Coffman road. The east slope
between Stage 3 - Part B and Stage 4 - Part B will be left 3h to
lv so that dewatering can be suspended on the western area until
mining ends in Stage 4 - Part A. When mining progresses into
Stage 4 - Part B this slope will be removed so a single lake is
created. The 25 foot setbacks from the property lines will be
maintained on the new areas. Please refer to Map Exhibit Fn to
see the final configuration of the areas north of the river.
These changes will add 128.23 acres t to the usable area in
the mine. of this 87 .02 acres will be lake, 7.72 acres i will be
roads, and 34.84 acres i will be revegetated. But, as will be
explained below, it will only change the permitted area by 89 .55
acres t because some existing permit area is being removed. The
total permit area becomes 689.27 acres t once this amendment is
approved. Please refer to Map Exhibit D-1 for the location of
the changes to the permit area and the revised Mining Timetable
for area changes associated with this amendment.
AMENDMENT 8 - Acreage removed.
This change amounts to removing Stage V from the Permit
area. Stage V contained 38.68 acres t, which when subtracted
from the 128.23 acres t, brings the total permit area change to
89 .55 acres t as noted above. We traded part of this stage to
the BLM this year and have found that we will not need this area
in the future. Stage V has not been affected. We have changed
our plans from the 1981 amendment and will process the material
north of the river either at the south area plant site or on a
parcel north of Stage 3 - Part A that is zoned for that use.
This new area is not added to the permit as we plan to create a
single processing and sales yard where gravel from this and other
mines we have permitted, will be processed. For this reason and
according to Rule 1.1(27) "Mining operations" . This term
does not include: . . . cleaning, preparation and transportation
and other off-site operations not conducted on the Affected
Lands" . we do not have to include this industrial area in our
permit.
AMENDMENT 9 - Stage numbering change
The terrace Stages A thru B and river level Stages W thru 2
will remain unchanged. Rather than totally change the lake area
numbering sequence we choose to create one new stage, Stage 5 and
modify the remaining stages by breaking them into parts to
explain how the mine will be developed once mining ends in Stage
2 - Part A. This numbering change will have no affect on the
overall mining plan or methods used as mining progresses. one
minor change will be to increase the amount of mining face length
6
