Long <br />Division Director <br />RE: Costilla County Landfill Pit (Permit M-80-233) Consideration <br />by Mined Land Reclamation Board during their January 24-25, 1996 <br />meeting of a Possible Notice of Violation, Cease and Desist Order; <br />Corrective Action and Order to Pay Civil Penalty for failure to <br />comply with the requirements of Rule 3.1.7 (2). <br />Dear Mr. Vasquez: <br />As indicated to you in our telephone conversation this date, the <br />above matter has again been placed on the agenda of the Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board for their consideration during the <br />Board's January 24-25, 1996 meeting. <br />This was a result of the lack of an agreement between Costilla <br />County and the Division on a ground water monitoring plan for the <br />Landfill Pit by December 16, 1995 which was 60 days from the <br />Board's October 17, 1995 meeting when consideration of the matter <br />of the possible violation was continued. <br />I have attached a copy of a letter sent to Mr. Epi Jaramillo, <br />Costilla County Commissioner following the Board's October 17, 1995 <br />meeting. <br />If you have any questions on the above, please contact me. <br />Sincerely, <br />Jat~ GS~1e,,~,,lA <br />James C.
