EXHIBIT G
WATER INFORMATION
Surface Water
The mine site is located adjacent to the Cache La Poudre River. The subject property
is reasonably flat pasture and cropland. The 100-year floodway extends over the
northern 1/3 of the site. Flood levels from the 100-year runoff are about two to four feet
deep across the northern end. Consequently, low velocities would be expected in the
floodplain with the exception of the main channel area of the Cache La Poudre River.
The floodplain extends over the northern 1/2 of the site.
The topsoil and overburden stockpiles will be located at the very southern end of the site,
aligned with the general direction of flow, to limit obstruction of the floodplain and limit
erosion should any floodwater reach that depth.
All drainage originating from the site will be routed to the excavated pit. Sediment
resulting from on-site and off-site erosion will also be intercepted by the pit.
Groundwater
The Bucklen Equipment Company, Inc. pit is located in the Cache La Poudre River
alluvium and the water table is at or near the surface early in the spring and recedes to
as deep as 48 inches in the fall. Water will be encountered when excavation below the
water table occurs. During mining the pit will be dewatered and water will be pumped to
a settling pond where it will be allowed to infiltrate back into the ground. If necessary
water will also be pumped directly to the river.
The applicant owns water rights on the subject property and intends to use them as the
source of augmentation water.
The majority of the adjacent property owners are supplied potable water through the City
of Greeley. The adjacent land owners, who operate wells, should not be adversely
impacted by the operation.
The final use of the site will be for a private recreational pond.
G-1
