Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc.
Permit No. M-1974-069
Pond #1 This groundwater-fed pond was reclaimed in the 1960's or earlier; no work
remains to be completed.
Pond #2 This groundwater-fed pond was reclaimed in the 1960's or earlier; no work
remains to be completed.
Pond#3 This is the recirculation pond for the wash plant. It has been previously
reclaimed but may require some minimal regrading and reseeding.
Pond #5 This is a settling pond. This pond was originally about 8 acres and is 80%
full of wash fines. A 1 to 2 acre shallow pond will be left in the North-East
comer. The remaining 6 to 7 acres will be covered with topsoil and seeded.
Associated costs have been addressed in Exhibit L.
Pond #6 This is a settling pond. This pond was originally about 6 acres and is now
80% wash fines. An approximate 1 acre shallow water pond will be left in
the North East corner. The remaining 5 acres will be covered with topsoil
and seeded. Associated costs have been addressed in Exhibit L.
3.0 Cell 8 will have a maximum pit acreage of no more than 19 acres during mining.
Celt 10 will have a maximum acreage of no more than 7 acres during mining. The depth of
ground water is about 6 feet.
6.4.5 EXHIBIT E -Reclamation Plan
4.0 Following consultation with the DMG and other permitting authorities, Loveland Ready
Mix Concrete, Inc., believes that reclaiming silt ponds 5 and 6 to wetlands is not feasible
and will reclaim these areas as specified in the Reclamation Permit (M-1974-069, as
amended).
Wash fines include fine-grained sand, as well as c]ay and silt content to hold moisture.
Soil amendments or fertilizer (See Rules 3.1.9(7), 3.1.10(5)) will enhance the nutritive
quality of wash fines as a plant growth medium, as needed. The approximate 14 acres of
ponds 5 & 6 will be covered with topsoil and seeded in accordance with the current
Reclamation Permit specifications. The topsoil will come from Cell 1Q and the costs for
this reclamation work are included in the enclosed cost estimates.
5.0 As inert fill is placed in the designated fll azea, Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc., has
been covering the rubble and waste concrete with clean fill dirt. Landmark Engineering
tested the depth of fill dirt covering the rubble and waste concrete and found that a sandy
clay layer exists to 24 inches as existing cover dirt, with trace gravel and organic root
penetration in the upper 6 inches. (See attached Landmazk report.)
Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc., commits to providing approximately 24 inches of plant
growth medium on the remaining area (approximately 2.5 acres), to include the option of
