DISCHARGE PERMIT: Permit COG-850030 has been transferred from
the permittee, Lucy Davis, to Landmark Reclamation. The
permit expires on 06/30/97. There were no discharges reported
during the past quarter.
WATER MONITORING: There were no samples collected from either
surface or ground water sites during the quarter. The ground
water monitoring has been discontinued by permit revision.
That leaves only one surface water site which rarely receives
flow. This site has a large crest gauge which did not appear
functional at the time of the inspection. If DMG wishes to
continue the monitoring at this site and obtain some useable
data, I would suggest that they reconsider the equipment being
used.
AIR QUALITY: Air emissions permit 87LA219(1-2) issued on
12/15/93 does not have an expiration date. The mine is
inactive so there should be little concern as to air
emissions.
POND INSPECTIONS: Certified pond inspections were submitted
for all quarters of 1994.
ANNUAL RECLAMATION REPORT: The report for 1994 was received by
DMG in January 1995.
ROADS: only one road remains on the mine. The certified cross
sections and drawings were reviewed for this road.
PENDING PERMITTING ACTIONS: A
modify the principal spillway
impoundment.
revision is pending which will
to the one remaining
MINE RECORDS: The records for the mine are kept at the Las
Animas County courthouse. Although the majority of the
records were at the courthouse, some were missing and some
were outdated. DMG has instructed the operator to update
these records.
FIELD REVIEW
SIGNS AND MARKERS: The mine identification sign is posted at
5
