EXH[BIT E - RECLAMATION PLAN NARRATIVE (CONTINUED) <br /> Reseedi <br /> Approximately 12" of topsoil/overburden material shall be utilized for revegetation, except <br /> along the South Platte River Berm Area, where 6" will be utilized to revegetate areas disturbed <br /> by the slurry wall installation and to cover existing non-vegetated areas west and north of the <br /> future reservoir bank for reseeding along the S. Platte River channel area. The following seed <br /> mixture shall be planted for permanent revegetation in all areas proposed for revegetation: <br /> Grasses % of Mix PLS Per Acre <br /> Western wheatgrass, Barton 20% 3.2 <br /> Streambank wheatgrass, Sodar 10% 1.1 <br /> Slender wheatgrass, common 10% 1.1 <br /> Switchgrass, Blackwell 10% .5 <br /> Little bluestem 10% .7 <br /> Blue gram, Lovington 10% .6 <br /> Sidecats grama, Vaughn 10% .9 <br /> Cicer Milk vetch, Monarch 10% 1_3 <br /> Total Pure Live Seed (PLS) per acre 9.4 <br /> Seeding will occur in either the fall or spring, and will be repeated in either the next fall or spring if <br /> necessary. Other detail on seeding may be found in the accompanying recommendations as outlined <br /> in the letter in EXHBIT I/J. <br /> Trees and Shrubs <br /> 400 shrubs, 200 trees of I" caliper or greater, and 200 tree seedlings planted in the Rivers's ox-bow <br /> in northwest portion of Area 2A along the east side of the River. 200 shrubs and 100 trees of I" <br /> caliper or greater will be planted along other periphery areas around the lake area(s). Not more than <br /> 60% of the 200 V or greater caliper of the deciduous trees may be Cottonwood and Willow species. <br /> The remaining 40% of the 200 1" or greater caliper of deciduous trees shall be other species of <br /> deciduous trees such as American Plum, Western Catalpa, Green Ash, Hack—berry, Honey Locust, <br /> or other adapted deciduous trees, except Russian Olive trees which are excluded. Not more than <br /> 10% of any one type of shrubs may be utilized. Typical shrubs which may be considered included <br /> Antelope Bitterbrush, Hansen Rose, Rabbit Bush, Honeysuckle, Skunkbush Sumac, Lilac, <br /> Snowberry, Buffaloberry, Cistena Cherry, Manchive Cherry, Bluestem Willow, Golden Current, or <br /> other adapted species. Shrubs will be in 5 gallon containers. For bond release requests, a minimum <br /> survival rate of 50% of the trees and shrubs within any area proposed for release must be <br /> demonstrated at the time of release. <br /> Page 3, EXHBIT E <br />
