At the conclusion of
Stage B, Phase 5 will be mined. The mining of Phase 5 will require that the existing entrance into
the Metcalf Pit be removed. In order to leave access to the pit from 6200 Road, an entrance from the
end of the 6200 Road will be constructed during the mining of Phase 5. Upon reclamation, material
will be backfilled over this access road in order to create a slope with a more natural appearance and
an entrance to the pit will also be incorporated into this backfilling. Both of the entrances in the
mining and reclamation portions of Phase 5 will have an approximate slope of 7H:1 V. The entrance
to the pit from the 6175 road will also have a slope of approximately 7H:1 V. This road is designed
to the reclamation slopes and both the 6175 Road and 6200 Road entrances will be left aRer mining
has concluded. After the Stages A and B combine, most of the production is expected to leave the
site through the 6175 Road entrance.
Haldorson Sand and Gravel Mine 13
