' Co.
Phone # Phone #
Fax # Fax #
I have examined the site you propose to open as a gravel mining operation. The followvtg
information pertains to the proposed reclamation plan:
LOCATION:
SOILS:
This area is the gravel breaks site located in the S yi of the SE 114 in Section 6 and
the W %: of the W %a of Section 5 is T23S, RS7W of the 6th Principal Meridian,
The majority of this area consists of a Gravel Breaks range site. The Gravel Breaks
site is the Cascajo soil series represented by the symbol Cg on the attached soils
trap. This has a land capability classification of Class VIIs-2. There are some
small azeas of Numa clay loam soil surrounding the Gravel Breaks which will not
be affected significantly because the gravel does not extend under them in sufficient
quantity to warrant mining activity. They will be impacted by travel across them
during the mining operations and will require revegetation later on.
VEGETATION:
On the Gravel Breaks site, the vegetation should be predominantly Side-Oats
grams, Little Bluestem, Blue Grams, and Needle and Thread grasses should aiso
be major producers. Sand Dropseed; Indian Ricegtass and Red Threeawn should
be found in lesser amounts. Minor amounts of Fourwing Saltbush, Snakeweed.
Yucca, Pricklypear, and Rabbitbntsh should also be present.
The cturent vegetation on these parcels consists mainly of Blue Grams, and very
small percentages of Galleta, Sideoats Grams, Needle and Thread, Red Threeaan,
Founving Saltbush, Yucca, Sagebntsh, Pricklypear and annual needs.
