Water, Waste & Land, Inc. • • Statementiaf Qualifications
8
OUR FACILITIES
The facilities provide important breadth to the efficiency and capabilities of WWL's
staff. These facilities include computational equipment, computer software, and field
testing and sampling equipment. These are briefly discussed below.
COMPUTING
Our in-house computing capabilities allows our staff to perform a Wilde variety of
computations, using programs developed by others or those developed by ourselves for
specific applications. Computing hardware includes PC computers linked by an in-house
network system. In addition to our own computing equipment we have a direct telephone
link, on a time share lease, with the Computer Center at Colorado State University which
makes additional computational capacity available.
COMPUTER SOFTWARE
We maintain on permanent storage, or have access to, a large library of computer
programs including surface flow models, numerical ground water flow and transport
models, slope stability and foundation design programs, numerical and analytJical partially
saturated flow models, statistical programs and surface hydraulics models.
Many of the analytical saturated and partially saturated models have been
developed and adapted for in-house use by our personnel. The staff is thoroughly familiar
with the programming, documentation, and use of all simulation models currently in our
library and are capable of introducing different or new models as the need alrises.
DATA MANAGEMENT
As a result of our in-house computing capabilities we have developed aiwide range
of data management services for our clients. Because of the amount of enyironmental
and technical data generated for most projects, these data need to be organized and
manipulated efficiently for calculations, summaries, and visual presentation. Our ability
to perform this service is a very important asset to our clients and has become an
important independent element of our technical capabilities.
