Exhibit J <br />Vegetation Information <br />Vegetation at the Topaz Mine is very similar to other mines located within the Sunday Mine <br />Complex. Previous vegetation surveys within the Sunday Mine Complex identified two distinct <br />vegetative compositions for steep hillsides and valley floors. The surface facilities of the Topaz <br />Mine consist primarily of steep hillsides that blend into a gently sloping valley floor. <br />The steep hillsides are dominated by scattered pinyon andjuniper, measuring 4 to 8 feet high. <br />Vegetative coverage is estimated to be 16%, consisting of the following: ] 0%Pinyon-Juniper, <br />14% Small Sagebrush, 43% Grasses (including 60%Galleta, 39% Indian Ricegfass, and 1% Blue <br />Gramma), and 21% Russian Thistle, with the remaining 12% consisting of cactus, Yucca, <br />Snakeweed, and other miscellaneous forbs. <br />Vegetation on the valley floor predominantly consists of grasses with some scattered shrubs and <br />Juniper. Vegetative cover is estimated to be 15% consisting of the following: 51% Russian <br />Thistle, 34% Grasses (including 62% Galleta, 29% Blue Gramma, and 9% Indian Ricegrass), and <br />4% Snakeweed, with the remaining 11% consisting of Big Sagebrush, Juniper, Shadscale <br />Saltbush, Cactus, and other miscellaneous forbs. <br />OS-18-2007 Exhibit) Veg Info J-1 <br />
