Air jacklegs will be used in production areas. All blasting operations <br />will be conducted in accordance with MSHA regulations (30 CFR Parts 56 and 57). Blast holes <br />will be loaded with an electric blasting cap, chemical booster, and a mixture of ammonium nitrate <br />and fuel oil prills. The blasts will be initiated electronically with the hole pattern, firing <br />sequence, and delays designed to allow for optimum breakage. Explosives and detonators will be <br />stored in underground magazines and transported from the magazines to the working face in <br />accordance with MSHA regulations (30 CFR Part 56 and 27 CFR Part 55). Currently the mine <br />decline extends 4,000 feet south and is at and average depth of 500 feet below the ground surface. <br />Based on the distance from surface facilities and depth of the mine workings, explosives are not <br />expected to adversely affect any on-site or off-site surface areas. <br />The ore and waste rock will be mucked out using low-profile diesel loaders. Depending on the <br />size of the opening, the loaders will vary in capacity from 2 to 5 cubic yards. Ore will be hauled <br />to the surface using low-profile diesel haul trucks with capacities ranging from 2 to ] 0 tons. <br />During initial decline and lateral development, the waste rock will be hauled to the surface and <br />placed in the WRA.
