been deposited in the impoundment area. Further, a drying period was necessary for each
impoundment area prior to sampling as deposition was switched between areas.
The geochemical test work is ongoing to ensure as complete an evaluation as possible, as
explained in later sections of this document. Review of the geochemical test work and seepage
evaluations completed for this report indicate that the changes in tailings constptuents have not
materially affected the geochemical characterization of the tailings or the predicted long-term
seepage from the tailings. The test work indicates that the original characterization of the
tailings as non-toxic and chemically inert is still valid. Therefore, the approved rl:clamation plan
for the San Luis tailings impoundment is appropriate and no modification based 4n the test work
is proposed.
The report is divided into four major sections. The second section discusses the data collection
for all aspects of the evaluation. The third section outlines the results of the tlata collection.
The final section discusses conclusions and recommendations based on the datalcollection.
•
