In our May 8, 2007 response to the
April 23, 2007 DRMS adequacy review letter, we committed to submitting along-term
monitoring plan as TR-9 by August I, 2007, based upon the results of the TR-8
investigation.
CEMEX now proposes to submit the results of our hydrogeologic investigation and our
proposed long-term monitoring plan by August 31, 2007. The task of gauging the
Boulder Feeder Canal flow in the reach adjacent to C-Pit (to quantify any measurable
leakage that may be affecting C-Pit) has yet to be accomplished. Our consultant Brown
and Caldwell has been in regular contact with the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy
District, and has been informed that consistently significant flow rates in the Canal have
been delayed this year due to above average precipitation this spring and early summer.
Flow in the Canal, which is designed to flow at 200 CFS, was in the single-digit cubic
feet per second (CFS) range up until late June. In the last ten days it has risen to levels
consistently over 100 CFS, and therefore the present plan is to gauge the canal in the next
two weeks.
Most of the proposed scope of work in the March 30, 2007 plan for TR-8 has been
accomplished:
Lyons Plant
P0.
