Because many areas are presently treeless, the name "Woodland" is
not always appropriate. Where trees exist and the land user plans woodland
use and management, Woodland may be shown. (Note: Soils having potential
plant communities that are treeless are described as range sites.)
Grazing value ratings (See Table): H = High, M = Medium, and L = low will
be used instead of range condition or "forage condition" classes to indicate
grazing value. Different grazing value ratings are to be separated on maps
by dotted lines.
Soils of the Riverbottom, 63 Type
Soils of this type-are those bordering major streams and tributaries. Like
the vegetation, soils are highly variable. They are commonly mapped as
broadly defined units i.e. fluvaquents. (Lincoln, Banks, Bankard and similar
::cries ir, seine soi; :_ _, areas have been mapped as Riverbottom.)
Soil Mapping units in Riverbottom, 63 in the area served by the field office
are: QQ q / / )
/!0.- Yan 11 o-rtl sander ~no-w~
Q J i
cB M- V ct n ~l' u.r d S /a ~ S
RV- R/VCI- We.sh
USDA-SCS
- TG Sect.
