' The site will be excavated and reclaimed in three phases beginning at the east end of the
site. Material will first be removed from the top of the previously mined area in the

formerly out-of-bounds region and pushed down the hill approximately 350' to a benched
area for processing. There will be no mining in previously undisturbed azeas within this
' phase. The top 4 to 6 inches will be stockpiled and seeded for future reclamation. This top
down method of excavation will continue until a 2:1 slope is achieved and will disturb
approximately 3.9 acres. At that time reclamation of the first phase will begin prior to
' commencement of Phase 2. Depending on County gravel requirements and proposed
growth, Phase 1 may last for ] to 2 years.
'
Phase 2 consists of the area west of Phase I within the limits of the existing pit. Material
in this phase will also be excavated utilizing the top down method until a 2:1 slope is
' achieved and stockpiled at the existing benched area at the entrance to the site. This phase
will disturb approximately 8.0 acres and may last as long as 10 years. Reclamation will be
implemented prior to commencement of the third and final phase.
'
Phase 3 will consist of all future development west of the limits of the existing operation
along the existing gravel ridge within the proposed 50 acre parcel. The top down method
' of excavation will continue along the existing west-facing ridge within the western portion
of the permitted area. The top 4 to 6 inches of topsoil will be removed, stockpiled and
' seeded for future reclamation. This phase may disturb up approximately 7.7 acres and may
last as long as another ]0 yeazs. The area will be reclaimed to a minimum slope of 2:1 in
order to blend in with the surrounding topography.
' The mining operation will disturb approximately 20 acres of the 50 acre permitted parcel.
The extraction of the desired material in each phase will continue until the maximum 2:1
slope is achieved or excavation reaches to within 12 to 18 inches of the underlying
' Morrison Formation.
' There will be no other authorized uses within the limits of the mining operations until the
site has been reclaimed back to it's previous wildlife habitat use. No unauthorized access
will be permitted to the site and a locked gate will be maintained to limit access during
' periods of non-use. No toxic materials of fluids will be stored or disposed of at the site.
The County shall take all reasonable precautions to prevent or suppress forest fires at the
' site. No material will be disposed of by burning in open fires without previously obtaining
the appropriate approval.
1
1

1
