SMEL70N Director
February 2, 1983
T0:
File of Mr. Bill Malouff
File No. 82-33
FROM: David SheltorY(/{~
SUBJECT: Phone Call from Mr. Steve Malouff January 27, 1983
At 4:55 p.m. on January 27, 1983, I received a phone call from Mr. Steve
Malouff. He asked to speak to Joe Zalkind, but in his absence, requested to
speak to me. Apparently, Bill Malouff had just returned from our Board
meeting, where he had an opportunity to speak to the Board regarding actions
taken over the last year-and-a-half. Steve Malouff was extremely angry and
upset about the $10,000.00 fine that is now, and has been, due to the State
for several months. I tried to explain to Steve Malouff what the sequence of
events had been. Mr. Malouff was so upset that I had difficulty in completing
any sentence and, thus, the conversation was not very constructive.
Mr. Malouff stated that he would go to a court and get a judge to order us to
reconsider, or go directly to the Attorney General to achieve the same thing.
I suggested that he should write a letter to the Chairman of the Board with
any additional facts that his brother, Mr. Bill Malouff, had not related to
the Board during the many hearings. I don't know whether or not Steve Malouff
will write a letter to us or undertake one of his other tactics of going to an
attorney, a judge, or the Attorney General's office. After approximately a
ten minute conversation, Mr. Malouff did indicate he was sorry for yelling at
me, but that he was extremely angry.
/mt
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
