Lincoln Avenue -Suite A-5 <br />Steamboat Springs, Colorado 80487 <br />970.879.7479 <br />Re: Twentymile Coal Company -Foidel Creek Mine (C-82-056), Completion of Clean-up and <br />Mitigation Activities for 09/11/06 Coal Fines Dischazge <br />Deaz Mr. Poirot: <br />Enclosed is a copy of the Abatement Completion Report, which summarizes the control, assessment, <br />notification, clean-up, and mitigation measures that Twentymile Coal Company implemented and <br />completed to address the 09/11/06 accidental coal fines dischazge to Foidel Creek. The Report <br />includes an Executive Summary and updated information on the completion of all required abatement <br />steps. <br />Through the cooperative efforts of Twentymile Coal Company, the Division of Reclamation, Mining, <br />and Safety, and the other jurisdictional agencies, we were able to successfully address the temporary <br />consequences of this unfortunate accident through timely containment, assessment, clean-up, and <br />remediation, with no significant adverse impacts to drainage characteristics, water quality, or aquatic <br />life in Foidel Creek or downstream drainages. Thanks for your cooperation and assistance in <br />addressing specific issues related to the accidental discharge, and subsequent clean-up and remediation <br />efforts.
