The general <br />site location is at the upper reach of Sunshine Canyon, between <br />Sunshine Canyon Drive (Boulder County Road 89) to the north, and Gold <br />Run Road (Boulder County Road 52) to the south. It is approximately <br />eight road miles west of the City of Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado. <br />The elevation of the mining area ranges from about 7,600 to 8,100 feet <br />above mean sea level (amsl). <br />This Amendment incorporates certain modifications to the existing permit <br />area boundaries around the Cash and Who Do mines, and by addition <br />incorporates the Mount Royale Area at a location generally commencing <br />at approximately 200 feet (and extending to approximately 1,200 feet). <br />southeast of the Cash Mine. The active Mount Royale No. 1 exploration <br />adit is situated near the western edge of the main body of this area, and a <br />potential second exploration and/or production adit (Mount Royale No. 2) <br />would be situated near the eastern extent. In addition, the Mount Royale <br />Area incorporates a portion of the roadway extending upslope toward the <br />Cash Mine (to enable improvements to accommodate haulage trucks), <br />along with a small non-contiguous area at the St. Joe shaft (northeast of <br />the Cash shaft) to be utilized as an emergency escapeway. <br />For purposes of this Amendment, the proposed (mod~ed) "permit area" is <br />generally divided into three areas, as follows: <br />Cash Mine Area: The amended Cash Mine Area (as proposed) will be <br />enlarged to 2.76 acres (the existing permitted area is 2.26 acres, inclusive <br />of roadways) comprising the Cash shaft and waste rock area as well as <br />the existing surface structures.
