_ ~6. LEASE SPACE EVALUA~N • <br />Mr. Bobo requested that I evaluate available office space for American Shield <br />Coal Company since the present lease terminated 1/31/88. Until the timing was <br />right for American Shield it was agreed that the current lease would proceed <br />on a month-by-month basis. Included were: <br />a.. Determining space requirements for American Shield based on both the <br />small mine and the Large mine concepts. <br />b. Determining where space was available. <br />c. Securing estimated lease costs. <br />7. TELEPHONE SYSTEM <br />Mr. Bobo requested I evaluate the office phone system. Upon discussions <br />with ATdT, it was found that a new system could be installed to replace the <br />old one at about half the monthly cost. This was done. <br />8. FRUITA NINE SITE INSPECTIONS <br />As you know, the State inspects the mine site each month and issues inspection <br />reports to the company. At times, the mine site requires road and ditch <br />maintenance which had to conform with rules and regulations. My work involved <br />the following: <br />a. Inspect site resulting from State inspections. <br />b. Arrange for maintenance and repair work. <br />c. Repair damage done by vandals - this happened on at least two <br />occasions. <br />d. Inspect site to assure complience with State regulations. <br />9. EXPLORATION BONDS <br />My involvement included: <br />a. York with legal on compliance. <br />b. Discussions with State personnel. <br />c. Completion of necessary forms and work involved to submit to the <br />State for their approval. <br />10. LEASE EVALUATION <br />I am not an attorney, but I began a study in January to evaluate the company's <br />leases. I started with the Byer's Lease, but that has been the extent thus <br />far. i must say, if this lease is an indication of all the leases, then I <br />would recommend that an attorney evaluate all Leases. <br />11. GOVERNMENTAL FORMS <br />I f11ed the necessary periodic governmental forms that came Sato the office <br />that required immediate attention. <br />12. GENERAL <br />On a day-to-day basis I took care of the work that needed attention. <br />
