The Staley-Gordon mine will be used sa a temporary sump to <br />provide room in the main sump for additional mine water. Any oil contaminated <br />water stored in the Staley-Gordon mine or in the main Bump will ba chemically <br />treated with a flocculent to remove such oil before being discharged to the <br />Scullion Gulch. The water treatment task will be undertaken by fall of 1990. <br />III.D.3 Sewa~te Treatment A mechanical sewage treatment plant has been constructed <br />within the Portal area. The effluent, appro~dmately 1,800 gallons per day, will be <br />pumped to the process settling pond in that area. Water from this pond is either <br />used for fire water, duet control or as makeup water for the coal preparation plant <br />III.D.4 Telecommunication A telecommunication and radio repeater site has been <br />installed along the access road to the water storage area.
