10!29/2002 08:16 3036703522 TETRA TECH PAGE 04
r
500 feet to the east. The proposed access road will be used from 7 am until 5 pm, six days per
week, for approximately one year and will support a much smaller volume of truck traffic than
either 120'h Avenue or Highway 85, though from a distance of 100 feet or more. The Hanson
property appears to have a six foot privacy fence already in place along its east and northeast
boundaries. A brief review of literature available on the Internet suggests that physiological
effects of low level overflight by military aircraft is even difficult to discern in domestic animals.
The Applicant is sensitive to the concerns of Mr. and Mrs. Hanson and continues to explore ways
of satisfying their concerns, so that their letter of objection may be withdrawn. Offers to the
Hansons by the Applicant are made, however, with the understanding that Adams County is
currently or will be seeking to purchase or condemn both the Schibli and Henson properties to
obtain right-of--way to complete the planned improvements to 120 Avenue.
Letter of Objection from Adams County
Attached to this letter is a letter of October 15, 2002 from Craig Tessmer of the Adams County
Department of Planning and Development, in which the County has withdrawn its objection to
the Applicant's initial submittal. The County's action to withdraw its objection is based on the
submittal by Les Ewegen of a revised graphic to the County on October 10, showing the access
road, as it was approved by the County and the Ciry of Commerce Ciry.
Office of State Engineer
The proposed amendment will add approximately 1.5 acres, to be used for an access road, to the
permitted area. Groundwater will not be exposed as a result of this amendment,
Department of the Army
The proposed amendment will not result in the placement of dredged or fill material, or
excavation associated with a dredge or fill project, in waters of the United States.
Please feel free to call me or Les Ewegen at 303-667-1666, if the Division has questions or needs
additional information regarding these subjects.
Sincere! ,
._
Scott Keen
4814 S.
