<br />DRAFr <br />accordance with the schedule for implementation contained in TR-d10, no later <br />than October 15, 1992. <br />(2) Upon implementation of the INCO tailings treatment process, BMRI shall commence <br />treatment of the the active tailings pond to bring it into compliance with the <br />permit standards of 4.4 ppm total cyanide and 3.8 ppm WAD cyanid as rapidly as <br />possible. After the active tailings pond has achieved compliant with the <br />permit standards, BMRI shall commence treatment of the inactive ailings pond <br />to bring it into compliance with the permit standards as rapidly as possible. <br />Both the active and inactive tailings ponds shall be brought into compliance <br />with the permit standards no later than November 30, 1992. <br />(3) Compliance with this imposed deadline shall be ascertained on the basis of one <br />composite sample each, collected from the active and inactive tailings ponds, <br />sampled and analyzed in accordance with the Sampling and Analytic 1 Protocol, <br />approved as Technical Revision No. TR-006. i <br />(4) The Division, and any other party wishing to do so, shall provide the Board <br />with monthly reports on the status of the tailings pond detoxific tion process, <br />until such time as cyanide levels within the tailings ponds have eturned to <br />compliance with the permit standards. <br />(5) This Order shall not be construed to modify the standards set for~h in the <br />permit and in the May Order. Rather, this Order specifies an add tional <br />corrective action necessary for complying with the permit standar s.
