Mr. Mazk Heffner
May 31, 2002
Page 2
Well Inventory
Water supply wells within 600 feet of the Phase 1 boundary were identified based on records
available from the State Engineer's Office, field investigations and interviews with nearby land
owners. Our review was based on a radius of 600 feet, the same distance used by the State
Engineer's Office to assess water level impacts for well permitting purposes. These efforts indicated
Yhat there are free registered wells within 600 feet of the Phase 1 permit boundary. Information
pertaining to these five wells is summazized in the table and comments presented below. The
locations of these wells are presented in Figure 1.
Table 1. There is an agreement in place between Transit Mix of Pueblo (originally implemented by
Valco, the owner of the property) and the Helmsings that the well will be replaced or an alternative
water supply provided before the water supply from the well is interrupted (See Exhibit S in the
Amendment application). Valco will comply with this agreement and provide an alternative water
supply prior to interrupting the water supply from the well. The well is used for irrigation purposes
at the Helmsing property. Ms. Helmsing is hauling water for her in-house uses. This well will
effectively be replaced with another water supply.
Bishop-B~ngAe~aA.rsoctares; rnc.
