The resulting cut at the top of the hill will be done in a manner that causes
the top of hill to undulate in a natural manner and to save as many of the
existing trees as possible. The cut at the top of the hill will be covered with
topsoil and reseeded with the following seed mix at 12 pounds per acre.
Recommended seed mix:
%z Sheep fescue
'/4 Western Wheat grass
'/4 Big Blue grass
Depending on the availability of top soil the Town would like to distribute
top soil on the pit face as well. Top soil would be applied from the top.
Tracked equipment would move the topsoil off the top and track vertically
down and up the slope to create pockets across the slope to accept seed and
the above seed mix would be broadcast. The Town does not consider re-
seeding to be imperative to stabilizing the erosion of the slope but is
desirable activity for weed control, stabilization and aesthetics.
Timeframe
The Town is desirous of completing the work as soon as possible but
understands that it will take time to complete the necessary approvals
through the State DOT, State Geology, County and Town. Also the Town
needs time to move some existing material at the toe of the slope and collect
topsoil for the re-seeding effort so as to expeditiously complete the project.
Whereas it is not impossible for the stabilization to be completed this year
the Town would like to propose that the project be completed no later than
October of 2007. Meanwhile it is our understanding that CDOT is
comfortable with any erosion that may occur off the property.
Submitted
Date: June 20, 2006
~~2z~ ~~~ ~~^
By: Robert H.
