<br />Section II (continued) <br />Page 2 <br />4.15 Revegetation <br />The banks of the sewage ponds must be seeded this fall to stabilize the banks and <br />control erosion. _ <br />The operator is planning to set up test plots on the Roadside refuse pile this fall. <br />They are waiting on a Department of Energy report before they design their test program. <br />A copy of the sampling program should be provided to the Division prior to the initiation <br />of the study. <br />4.Z8 Protection of Fish, Wildlife and Related Environmental Values <br />Representatives of the Colorado Division of Wildlife, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife <br />Service and Powderhorn Coal Company will meet on-site next week to discuss what type of <br />raptor-proof telephone poles are needed. <br />4.24 Operations on Alluvial Valley Floors <br />There are two potential AVF's near the mine site adjacent to Rapid Creek, which <br />are under review by the Division. The operator pointed these out. <br />Several test pits have been dug to help evaluate the AVF adjacent to the Colorado <br />River.on the mine site. Once all data has been collected from the pits, they must be <br />backfilled and seeded. <br />
