RECLAMATION COSTS
EXHIBIT L
The worst case reclamation scenario occurs when Phase 2 is mined out and the largest azea of the site
needs to be reclaimed. At this time, the Phase 1 azea will have been topsoiled, but all other
reclamation will be needed. The following work will be needed to complete the reclamation:
1) Do final grading of Phase 2 area. This could involve the backfill of up to 15,000 cubic yazds of
overburden into the pit.
2) Rip all bench areas above the lake. (4.3 acres)
3) The upper portion of the Phase 21ake portion (1.4 acres) and the bench areas (4.3 acres) will need
7" of topsoil replacement. This is an azea of 5.7 acres.
4) After placement, the soil will be disced or roughened prior to seeding.
5) Seed the wetland fringe of 15 feet width and 4600 feet length. This is 1.6 acres.
6) Allow the lake to fill and regrade the settling pond and dischazge ditch.
7) Seed and mulch the 4.3 acres of benches and upper dryland portion of the lake (2.8 acres) with
the dryland seed mix and 30001b mulch per acre.
North R-34 Pit 1/07
36
