The seed mix to restore the dry rangeland azeas is given below: <br />Species Variety PLS/Acre <br />Western Wheatgrass Arriba 5.6 <br />Muttongrass 0.1 <br />Indian Ricegrass Paloma 2.8 <br />Galleta Grass viva 0.8 <br />Sand Dropseed Vinal 0.1 <br />Canby Bluegrass Canbaz 0.9 <br />4 Wing Saltbrush 2.0 <br />Total PLS per Acre 12.3 <br />Seeding will occur during the fall (November) or eazly spring (Mazch) in order to take advantage of <br />available soil moisture conditions during the spring. The seedbed should be firm and the seed <br />planted at a depth of about 0.5 inch, where possible. <br />The rates above aze for broadcast seeding, which will be the method employed on all slope areas. <br />The relatively flat azeas (<8H:1 V) will be drill seeded at %z the rate shown in the table. Certified <br />weed-free mulch will be applied at the rate of 3000 lbs per acre, and will be crimped into the soil <br />surface on the flat azeas. Mulch will be broadcast on the slopes. Commercial starter fertilizer will <br />be applied at the rate of 20 pounds available nitrogen. The 13.5 acres of irrigated pasture will be <br />seeded according to the wishes of the landowner, which may include alfalfa, timothy or other <br />species suitable for this azea, soil conditions and climate. <br />North R-34 Pir 1/07 <br />13 <br />
