In addition to removing excess water from the tailings pond by the use of the existing
decantation line, Colina Oro Molino, Inc. plans to install a pump in the tailings pond to
recycle water directly back into the mill. Any structures used to support and position this
pump will have rubber tires attached to the underside of the swctures to prevent the pond liner
from being ripped or torn.
At the present time, all of the operable water lines to and from the tailings pond and the
Hazel A mine and the mill are two inch diameter PVC. One line runs from the tailings pond
to behind the Hazel A mine's bulkhead, and serves as the decant line. Another line runs from
the Hazel A mine to the mill building and has a submersible pump attached for the purpose of
recycling the water that is decanted from the tailings pond. There are no plans to enlazge or
increase the number of water lines between the mill facility and the Hazel A mine.
The total amount of land surface that will be affected by the construction of the Left
Hand Creek pumping station is 0.013 acres. This area was previously included in the total
acreage of affected land in the permit. The total amount of land surface that will be affected
by the installation of the Times mine water well and the connecting pipeline to the Gold Hill
Mill is estimated to be approximately 0.014 acres. To date, all of the existing water lines are
placed on the ground, and their assembly has not disturbed the land surface. However, this
particular line will have to be buried below the access road running between the Times mine
well site and the northwest comer of the Gold Hill Mill. This may require some additional
portions of the line to be buried in order to maintain a proper gradient between the Times mine
well head and the Gold Hill Mill. As soon as this line has been installed, a determination of
the total amount of land surface disturbed by this activity will be made, and the permit acreage
will be increased accordingly. Any pipe and pumping lines that cause any ground surface
disturbance will be included in the permit acreage.
Very wly yours,
Mark A. Steen
Gold Hill Ventures
,~~~
. Wayne atman
Colina Oro Molino, Inc.
3
