San Juan County has consulted and hired Lamberts and Associates of
Durango Colorado to do a detailed geotechnical stability study on the
slope above the pit and the effects on CR-25 stability #his study will not be
done until late July or early August.
2. The county surveyor Mr. Earnest E. Schaaf and his firm have been hired
to do a survey to meet the requirements of the DMG on the maps required
by DMG. This will not be completed until late July.
3. San Juan County is working on a revised reclamation plan and a revised
mining plan if any mining plan is needed at his site. Since only reclamation
will be the only work to be done. These plans are on hold until all of the
above requirements are done.
4. San-Juan County does not fell that there is a serious threat to the public
safety using CR-25 at his time any more than many other roads in San
Juan County but there is always that possibility and the danger is being
monitored and observed by the Road Dept. and the County Sheriffs Dept.
daily!
5. San Juan County is going to have to ask for an extension to all of the _ -
deadlines for the mining and reclamation plan and the stability study anct
surveying and mapping. San Juan County would please ask for a deadline
extension until the end of August.
Thank You,
Louie Girodo
San Juan County
