C-84-067
As a follow-up to our meeting of today, the items listed below represent my
findings for the issues I was to research.
A. Surface Water Sampling
Peerless Resources committed during the adequacy review process (page 22,
point 9 of PAR reply No. 1 dated April 15, 1985) to monitor five sampling
points:
1. Upper Coal Gulch,
2. Lower Coal Gulch,
3. Cherry Gulch,
4. Lightner Creek, and
5. Old Mine Discharge (Victory No. 1 Mine).
These five sampling points were to be analyzed per the parameters listed on
Table 3A (page 2.04-18C); however, the Division modified the parameters for
the Victory No. 1 Mine discharge as reflected on page 16 of the Findings
Document.
Peerless Resources also committed to monitoring the Victory No. 3 Mine
discharge per the parameters for the Victory No. 1 (page 4, point 6 of PAR
reply No. 2 dated June 28, 1985).
The final sampling location would be the NPDES discharge point of the sediment
pond.
The commitments in the permit application specify water quantity measurements
on a monthly basis with water quality analysis performed quarterly. There are
no specifications for submitting these data to the Division; therefore, it is
presumed these data would be submitted annually in the AHR.
B. Ground Water Samplin
Peerless Resources committed during the adequacy review process (page 7, point
11 of PAR, reply No. 2 dated June 28, 1985) to installing a double completion
well in the NW 1/4 NW 1/4, Section 16 during the Fall of 1985. It was
intended that this well would be sampled during Spring, 1986 runoff. Peerless
Resources further committed to submitting "...actual details regarding well
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
