<br />t <br />III. Comments - Compliance <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of <br />observations made during the inspection, Comments also describe any <br />enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence <br />supporting the enforcement action, <br />This c:as a comulete inspection conducted by Steve Wathen and Larry <br />Routten of the Ui~ision of Minerals and Geology (as part of a regularly <br />scheduled inspection) and oversi;hted by Gary Frig of the Otfice of <br />Surface mining. Accompanying the Division on this inspection was Juan <br />Garcia and Jim Niger of Colowyo foal Company. '('he inspection tool: three <br />full days and resulted in a list of maintenance items and a request for <br />revisions by the Division. <br />Weather <br />Beautiful "Indian Summer" days, clear in the high eighties. <br />Records <br />A11 records found to be complete and up to date. Operator must include <br />key on blasting records form clearly e~cplaining sl:etc}7 symbols <br />(4.08.1(b}. <br />Si ns <br />vine identification sign reported to be in shop by Rich Atkinson of <br />Colowyo (sign normally present). Topsoil and boundary markers present <br />and visible even on two newly completed topsoil stockpiles i16-B, 16-C 1. <br />Roads <br />Roads all intact and functional. Watering of roads was tal:in~ place <br />during inspection. Road ditches intact and functional elcept for a small <br />portion of the inside ditch for t}le access road to the Prospect Pond. <br />Operator must deepen this ditch or close road with water bars. <br />J.im h:iger stated that he would strhmit a revision soon to construct a road <br />to ccall: the dragline currently in the Section it pit to the Section 15 <br />pit ;scheduled to occur in ~iovember). <br />Hydrolu;ic Balance <br />All ponds were inspected and found to be intact and °unctional. The <br />foilowin~: ponds contained water: Tailor, Warehouse, Streeter*, Loadout* <br />and Stoic~r~. The Streeter Pond has recently- been cleaned of <br />approximately "L,UUO cubic yarci5 uC seriiment. I* minor amounts of water) <br />Tire operator has recently- had all ponds surve:;ed by an independent <br />contractor.
