BMG's preliminary suspicions of altered met llic ore
content, and the coincidental failure of the designed processing cyanide
recovery circuit, are additional indications of a modification in the
tailings chemical constituency. Appropria a permit
amendments, supported by comprehensive analytical results and esign
evaluations, shall be submitted by BMG to the Division for rev ew and
approval no later than 180 days following completion of the cyanide
detoxification of the tailings areas contents, described in itQm (4)
above.
Status: Satisfied - 8MG has committed to the completion of thQ requested
investigations, the submittal of a comprehensive
report, and the submission of appropriate permit
amendments, if necessitated, in a letter ~f April 16,
1992. The Division originally specified Qompletion
within 90 days following detoxification, however,
BMG has demonstrated that 180 days will b$ required
for completion of the requested evaluation.
(9) Amendment of Environmental Monitoring Plan:
BMG shall amend its environmental monitoring plan to include direct
monitoring of the cyanide and metals content of the tailings s urry and
liquids.
