A Yes, sir.
Q The process you described in preparing for the
[May 12, 1994, bond release inspection of the
mine] of reviewing the permit documents and so
forth--that's your typical inspection preparation
process for any mine, isn't it?
A No, sir, it is not.
Q Oh, it's not? You don't review the permit
documents in your files before going out on an
inspection?
A Yes, but not in the detail for a bond release
inspection.
Q Okay. But, if you're reviewing the files for a
complete oversight inspection covering all areas,
you'd review those permit documents in more
detail, wouldn't you?
A Not necessarily, sir.
Q But in any event, you do the preparation for any
oversight inspection in Colorado--review permit
documents in your files in Albuquerque, at least
to some extent?
A That's correct.
Q And that's also something you direct your
inspectors who work for you to do as well, right?
A Yes, sir.
Q Now, you participated in the inspection on
March 31, 1993, carrying over to April 1, 1993 at
the Marr Mine, correct?
A Yes, sir.
Q who was with you on that inspection?
A Inspector Henry Austin of the Albuquerque Field
Office.
Q Was he the lead inspector for that, or were you?
A He was the inspector conducting the oversight
inspection, yes sir.
3
