COOLEY RESERVOIR AND FULTON WILDLIFE AREA PIT
AMENDMENT NO. 1 - JERONIMUS PROPERTY
EXHIBIT D -MINING PLAN
Aggregate Industries - WCR, Ina (AI) is proposing to add 50.21 acres to an existing 348.96 acres
sand, gravel, and borrow material mining operation permitted under DMG M-99-034. The additional
acreage is located East of the Fulton Ditch and South of 104°i Avenue in Section 16, T2S, R67W of
the 6°i Principal Meridian, Adams County, Colorado. The property is presently owned by Michael
A. and Michaleen A. Jeronimus (50%) and James W. Gardner and Allyson S. Gardners (50%) ,who
have entered into a contract to sell the property to AI. The depth of the resources to be mined is
apprcximately 30'. The map included as E_X7?7BIT B of this application depicts the property. It is
a combined USGS map with the existing proposed permit area outlined as Parcels A, B, C-1, C-2,
C-3, D-1, D-2, and D-3, as well as this additional area identified as Parcels E-1 and E-2. The two
expansion pazcels are sepazated by Xcel Energy right-of--way property of 210' in width, but there are
two 30' easements for access between the two parcels. The permit boundaries overlap two USGS
Quad maps, the Eastlake Quad and the Commerce City Quadrangle. With the addition of this 50.21
acres, the permit area is expanded to a total 399.17 acres.
This document was prepared by ADCO Consulting on behalf of AI, but some of the specific exhibits
have been prepared by the Applegate, Group Inc. and other consultants. The Reclamation Permit
Exhibits for the DMG will also be submitted concurrently to Adams County by ADCO Consulting,
along with other items required for County government approval of a Conditional Use Permit for
mining.
The first map insert, E~IIE3IT C-1 -PRE-MINING PLAN MAP, shows graphically the adjacent
property owners, the name and location of surface features, existing topography, water resources,
and structures within 200' of the boundaries ofthe Amendment No. 1 area (additional affected land).
The ownership of all the property within the Amendment No. 1 area, abutting property owners,
easement owners on and off site, and owners of permanent man made structures on the property and
within 200' of the property are listed and identified as a circled bold letter on the EXHIBIT C-I -
PRE-MINING PLAN M.AP. A complete list of corresponding addresses for each is included in
Exhibit 0. A description of the man made structures within the permit area and within 200' of the
permit area is described in Exhibit S.
The topographic mapping on EXHIBIT C-1 -PRE-MINING PLAN MAP was obtained from Adams
County from joint Adams County/Urban Drainage and Flood Control Mapping that was undertaken
in 1997, and was also utilized for the existing permit (M-99-034). The floodplain information was
also taken from FEMA Flood Insurance maps and UD&FCD data. EXHIBIT C-I -PRE-MINING
PLAN MAP also shows and lists Soil Information, and a brief description of Vegetative Cover within
the permit area. More detailed Soil Information is provided in Exhibit I. More Vegetation Information
is provided in Exhibit J. Exhibit H should be consulted for Wildlife Information, which includes a
letter from the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
